I'm wanting to key-bind the Back and Forward display functions. This is working for me in Linux, but not in Windows. Is this a known issue and/or is there a fix in Windows?
On both systems the setting is available within the Setup > Application > Customize Menu settings under Main Menu > zoom_menu.prev_display_state titled Back and similar for Forward; however, setting this has no effect for me on either system. In Linux I am able to change the '@toolbar.prev_display_state' and '@toolbar.next_display_state' entries within the klayoutrc and these work, but this change does not work for me in Windows 11. Within the klayoutrc file these settings within the zoom_menu have no effect on either system, even when I set them to conflict with the above toolbar settings. Please advise.

What kind of keys are you trying to bind? There is a lot going on under the Hood in Qt, so maybe some keys are captured on Windows, while they are not on Linux.

Historically, (in Windows anyway) the factory settings were "Shift-Tab" for Back, and "Tab" for Forward. Now, there are no keyboard shortcuts for these shown in the Display pull-down menu, and the shortcuts no longer work. I entered shortcuts manually in Setup>Customize Menu, but they still do not appear in the Display menu, and do not work. I am a huge fan of KLayout and used the Shift-Tab all the time in earlier versions. Would love to have it working again. Thanks!
I guess it's not just Windows. Looks like the forward/backward buttons can't be bound to keys at all.
I have created a ticket for that: https://github.com/KLayout/klayout/issues/2194
