Reverse the tone of GDS in KLayout Editor

Hello, is there a way to reverse or invert the tone of a GDS layout in KLayout Editor? So for example, if there is a layout with all polygons drawn to refer to a line, instead generate a layout with all polygons drawn to refer to the corresponding spaces. Thanks.

    Hi,

    no, there is no such option yet. But you can invert a layout by using the "NOT" boolean operation. Draw a big rectangle covering your layout on a different layout and use "Edit/Layer/Boolean" to perform a "NOT" operation between the rectangle and the drawn layout (in Edit mode).

    Currently, that method is confined to small and medium-sized layouts because of performance and memory reasons.

    Painting in reverse tone is possible, but it's simply not implemented yet.

    This would be an immensely helpful feature (as part of the Layer Toolbox) since this is a common task for rapid viewing of how layers will be drawn.
