I have a 7.7GB gds file that I tried opening on KLayout (both on default mode and view-only mode) - the file opens upto ~ 2.5GB and then errors out. Is this due to file size limitation on KLayout or my PC? Any workaround for this?
if you're using the 64bit version, there is no file size limit but you'll need some memory.
For GDS, the memory requirements are roughly 2..3x GDS file size more or less independent of the mode. For OASIS, the memory requirements may be quite different depending on viewer or editor mode.
