No, actually it is the other way round. "Trace Net" in "All Nets" mode will use l2n to trace the nets.
If you refer to single net tracing: that is a different algorithm and it only offers limited support for generated layers. L2N always operates on all nets. If you display the results in a netlist browser, you essentially will get the same functionality than "Trace All Nets".

I actually updated my code so as it generates the l2n connectivity it writes a .lyt file that can be loaded afterwords.
