Trying to open a GDS i just saved on my computer i get the following error msg:
"Unexpected end-of-file (position=57276624,record number=10327, cell=Art )"
I guess something went wrong while saving.
Is there any way to restore the file?
I'm afraid there is no way to fix that - apparently the file is shortened, maybe because your disk was full or some network problem. The file size is not particular big, so it's not an issue of some 2G limit or similar.
Did you save the layout with some other tool than KLayout? If so, maybe some polygon or text string overflow happened. KLayout should complain if you try to save such a file.
If the reason is a file system problem, there is no way to recover missing data. Depending on the nature of you data, KLayout may be able to read the part that is there but there is no guarantee for that.
If the reason is some other issue, it may be possible to recover the data with low-level byte fiddling, but lacking the data I can't give much advice.
