Time for compilation

edited August 2013 in KLayout Support
I use RedHat 6, and I succeeded once to compile the version 0.22.8
Since I tried to compile the version r-2027 or r-2035, my compilation on Linux takes hours and hours and does not finish :
how long should it takes for compilation on Linux ?

Best regards,

OkGuy

    Hi OkGuy,

there is not much specific about the snapshots - at least not compile wise.

Full compilation (including qtbinding) is done in ~30 mins on my old dual core (Ubuntu 12.04LTS, 32bit), gcc 4.6.3. Without qtbinding it's about 10 mins.

Sometimes memory is an issue. I have observed gcc or ld processes up to 2G of memory. But with 4G main memory that should not be an issue.

Can you identify the step at which the compilation hangs?

    Regards,

    Matthias
