how to copy paste an object between different layer

It seems that it will use another new layer to do so, is there any simple way to complete copy and paste between different layers? Thanks a lot!

Hi,

two options come into my mind, although there is not a single simple one:

• copy, paste and change layer (select new layer in layer list, then choose Edit/Selection/Change Layer)
• duplicate the whole layer with Edit/Layer/Copy layer - you can confine the copy to a subset of the hierarchy if necessary
