How to edit the shapes in a cell.

edited January 2015 in General

Hi,
I use KLayout to draw and edit MEMS layouts. I have a layout that was drawn by someone, in which I have this cell, named single_electrode, which is repeated several hundred times in the layout to make the actual device.
Now I need to change the dimensions of this cell (the polygons in it) , edit it so that it will be reflected in all the instances of single_electrode in my layout.
How do I edit the cell in klayout for this purpose?
Please help... thanks in advance.

Regards
Sharath

I figured out this one myself :) just make the cell you want to edit as top cel --> in the cell panel rightclick and show as top cell. after this you can edit the cell and it reflects everywhere.

    Very good :-)

BTW, you can also click on a shape inside that cell, hit Ctrl+D to descnd into that cell, apply the edits and ascend again with Ctrl+A.
