At work, I use a dual-core Pentium E5700. KLayout uses both cores when doing XOR.
At home, I use a quad-core i5-3570. I never see much more then 25% CPU load, meaning tasks take more time as with the older machine.
OS is Win7-64 in both cases and the KLayout on my home box is a 1:1 copy of that on my office box.
Any suggestions?

Hi mprott,
have you made sure that you configured multiple threads in the XOR dialog for your quad core too? I am using multithreaded XOR myself many times with multiple cores and so far I have not found any issues with cores not being utilized.
Another possible cause is that Windows may be configured such that it does not grant more than one core to the application. The setting is in "Processor affinity" in the task manager.

This setting somehow escaped me until now. Strangely enough, on both machines the setting initially was "1". Going to "2" on my office box did nothing, going to "4" on my home box saves a lot of time...
