DRC: Verify radius with rounded_corners feature?

edited July 2017 in Ruby Scripting
First of all - congrats to the DRC engine and especially the very helpful documentation on it.
The acceptence is quite high and we use it in most cases as default DRC verification tool.
Because of the electrical Field we use a lot of rounded edges and holes (missing circles) in the layout.

Right now I use a circle equition to verify the radius of a circle.
I wonder if and how it is to make use of the rounded_corners option for DRC.
Anyone experience you could share?

Best Regards,
Andy

    Hi Andy,

I'm afraid I don't have a good idea how to solve this. In the next release it's going to be possible to extract the rounding radius from polygons. This may provide a way to implement this kind of check.

Thanks a lot for the update Matthias.
Right now I run a layer inersion (with extent) followed by a notch witgh projction.
This works fine because I assume a circle isn't really a circle and there are always orthogonal edges to check on ...

    Looking forward to test ...

    Andy
  • Hi Matthias,

re. In the next release it's going to be possible to extract the rounding radius from polygons

Has this feature been implemented yet? If not, is this feature still on the roadmap?

    Thank you
    Andrew
