I would like to select part of the layout and export it to a new GDS file. Is that possible?
I can easily draw a rectangle with the area I want, but when it is selected, I can't seem to find how to save or export the selected part.
you can clip the part using the clip tool (Edit/Utilities). You'll need to somehow specify a rectangle (numerically, just the visible part or through a ruler). The clip tool will produce a new cell which you can save with "Save current cell as" from the cell list's context menu.
