OK, then try the following steps as a workaround. macOS / Linux terminal with git MacMiniKS{sekigawa} ~ (1)% mkdir -p ~/tempMacMiniKS{sekigawa} ~ (2)% cd tempMacMiniKS{sekigawa} temp (3)% git clone https://codeberg.org/klayoutmatthias/xsection.git…

Hi, As explained in README.md, we do not need to touch the raw git repository (https://codeberg.org/klayoutmatthias/xsection.git) if we simply use the package. (Image) Installation step (Image) (Image) (Image) Sample run (Image) When ru…

Hi, It depends on whether you already have the Instance object or just the referred Cell. * If you have the instance, simply use [d]trans or dcplx_trans. * If you need to "backtrack" from the cell (e.g., K01), use each_parent_inst to fin…

Hi @Matthias, When I first responded to this post, I intended to just provide a one-off example of how it could be built for Monterey. Since then, I've found myself creating DMGs for 6 versions (0.29.11, 30.2, 30.3, 30.4, 30.5, and 30.6). As you s…

Hi @simransingh14, I have completed a second research prototype based on this discussion. In the first prototype, I explored an external PySide6 launcher that authenticates via REST, downloads GDS/LYP files, and launches KLayout explicitly from th…

Hi Simran, Thank you for raising this interesting topic. It prompted me to experiment with an alternative approach outside of a KLayout plugin. Rather than embedding authentication and REST handling inside KLayout, I tried a small external launche…

Hi @zakaria, First, as Matthias already commented above, this forum is not the right place to raise this kind of question. Same does the location of “demofab klayout colors.lyp” in 2826. Instead, use https://nazca-design.org/forums/. You have alrea…

There are several ways to use a .lyp file with a layout. * Use File => Load Layer Properties menu. (Image) * Drag and drop a .lyp file into the main canvas. * Prepare a companion .lyp file. See https://www.klayout.de/forum/discussion/102/ap…

The image you attached is the KLayout installation directory. Since you are running KLayout on Windows, you need to create the library directory: C:\Users\zakaria.37\KLayout\libraries. Then, place a library file (*.gds) there. For example, let's pl…

I made another attempt to build version 0.30.5 on macOS Monterey (Intel) to see if the overhauled build system for ARM64+Tahoe also works on Monterey. I have uploaded two DMGs for the community's reference, which you can find here. (Image) Kazzz…

Hello, First, I assume you saved the design in GDS2. These (horizontal) cut lines are inevitable if... 1. A shape is represented by a polygon with holes OR 2. A polygon contains too many vertices (number is somewhat controllable; see below). Does …

I have made another attempt to build version 0.30.4 on macOS Monterey (Intel). I have uploaded two DMGs for the community's reference, which you can find here. (Image) Unfortunately, the latest macOS version, Tahoe, no longer supports my 13"…

I've noticed that the number of views for this post is still gradually increasing. To reconfirm again that the source code build in Monterey is still possible, I attempted the two builds for KLayout 0.30.3 with the latest MacPorts packages. (Image)…

Hi @Matthias, (Quote) On macOS, the three panes appear as expected upon launch with both Qt5 and Qt6. In the video above, we started by intentionally shrinking the console for demonstration purposes. (Image) Kazzz-S

There seems to be a misunderstanding about the units of rotation angle. (Image)

During the process of building these DMGs, I confirmed that the issue has been fixed.
