Instance does not show on the palette

Hello,

I have a problem on showing instance on the palette.

As you can see, the first figure shows instance and boxes. and all layers are checked as shown.
But only instance shows like empty square not as its own shape.
The shape of instance is in figure 2. It is a circle shape.
So, when I click "show as new top" for the instance cell, then it shows like that.
I want to see this instance on the most top cell.
Which option do i have to check or change?
